48 Hour party music

This my annual call to the KAOS massive to tell me what they want to hear played at the 48.

What I'd like you to do is mention some tracks you'd like to dance to, on the understanding that I'm actually kind of bored playing the same old stuff that I play at every other party and would dearly like to inject some of The New into the mix.

Admittedly, the 48 is one of the two big KAOS Alumni meet ups, and is, perhaps, not the best venue for The New, but it might be nice to play some of the oldies that haven't had much party time in the last couple of years.

So, some ground rules, just to keep things fair and not too redundant:

  1. Assume I'm going to play Nemesis, Farewell to the Crown and Closer. Any other oldie is fair game.
  2. Assume that I'll play Basshunter, Muse and Lady Gaga.
  3. Keep it down to five-ish suggestions. I'm not wading through dozens of songs I don't have, nor making the play list just for you.
  4. If I don't think anyone will dance to it, I'll tell you. Up to you to sell it.

Two words: The Macerena.
That was me. And I see it's spelt with an a, not an e.

Oops, that's 7. I can't count apparently. It could be a lot longer though, that's aggressively pruned.

some Tool would be cool, preferably Aenema and Stinkfist :)
Deathstars - White Wedding
Oh, and NIN Rickroll song.
Ke$ha - Take it off
Presets - My people
Cassette Kids - Spin
Phoenix - Lisztomania
Kids Of 88 - Just A Little Bit
I could just come up with a Saturday-night 80s hour...

Oh, we will have the 80's, I can assure you.

I could send you some new music, but what I really want to hear is the Electric Six. Danger High Voltage, Rubber Rocket, She's White, Dance Commander and Gay Bar.
UNKLE - Mistress : It's a good track. Might need to be chopped because of length, I think it's one of those 'hidden track' thingiee-majigs.
Puscifer - Queen B (Narcovice Mix) : You know, Rev 22:20 (as much as I like it) is not the only thing they do. Dancey-version of their Queen B single. The Suicide Girls like it so it must be good.
Pendulum - Immunize (feat Liam Howlett) : From their new album, how can we not love the tried and true Liam Howlett rockin' their business.
Hybrid - Empire : I found this band this month, and I am hooked like a bad thing. There are a few good other songs, that have a little bit more of an intro, but could still work (Original Sin comes to mind). Anyway, you should totally listen to them regardless.

If you were looking for some old wind-down classics, I really wouldn't mind hearing some Floyd or Zep, but it's not really living-up-the-partay-style music.
Pendulum - anything from the Immersion albumn, but specifically Witchcraft and Immunize
Sick Puppies - Anywhere But Here
Black Eyed Peas - Boom Boom Pow and I've Got A Feeling
Breaking Benjamin - again, anything, but mainly Blow Me Away

Also, AAAAAAaall the Lonley Island you can stomach, as if you weren't going to anyway.
Ok, I'm going to risk getting mocked for eternity now and suggest
Strut by Adam Lambert.
It has a really fun beat, and some serious hamming-it-up potential :p (and in my defence, the vengaboys are floor-fillers)

Old but popular in their day:

Merry Thoughts - Pale Empress
Everclear - Santa Monica
Marionettes - Ave Dementia
Dandy Warhols - Get Off
Tom Lehrer - Masochism Tango (or if that's deemed not danceable, Warren Zevon - Roland the Headless Thomson Gunner)

Five is so few!

Doh, not logged in with this browser - Phil here.
Hmmm, took me 10 minutes to even remember how to use LJ.......

OK, making some assumptions about what's already on the list...

Led Zeppelin - Immigrant Song (i just want to hear 30 people do the screamy bit...)
Nirvana - Breed
Korn - Got the Life (or Make me Bad? Either's good)
Pearl Jam - Do the Evolution
Project Pitchfork - Existence
Alice in Chains - Would?

Sorry John, couldn't keep it to less than six.....
Anything by the Wurzles.
